The 2029 Ticket: Kahin’s Ascent and the Strategic Awdal Gambit
In a decisive show of hands, the Central Committee elected party Chairman Mohamed Kahin Ahmed as KULMIYE’s official presidential candidate for the 2029 race. To present a credible challenge to President Abdirahman Cirro's incumbent administration, KULMIYE must first heal its internal estrangement. A fragmented opposition cannot unseat an incumbent in Somaliland’s competitive democratic arena; genuine internal reconciliation remains the prerequisite for KULMIYE's return to executive power.
